Resolved issues:

  1. On sites with leader follower inverters each one connected to a battery, one of the battery was not discharging at the available power causing the system to import from grid and in some cases cause the battery to go to sleep. This problem is resolved and all SolarEdge batteries connected to SolarEdge inverters can discharge at their maximum potential capacity on a leader follower site.

Known Issues and Limitations

  • In a multi-inverter configuration with AC coupled battery^, and Grid Charge disabled, the AC coupled battery does NOT charge from excess PV production of other PV-only inverters. Such configuration is currently NOT allowed as it may damage the battery.
    • Workaround:
      • 1. Enable Grid Charge and/or
      • 2. Add PV strings to the inverter with the battery (for inverters supporting both PV and battery connections)

^1 or more inverters with PV only + 1 or more inverters with battery only (without PV)

  • When pairing completes, the Status in the Status screen may present ‘Not Paired’ for a few seconds and then change to the correct status – ‘Idle’ or ‘Production’.
  • It’s a momentary presentation-only issue that does NOT affect system performance. presentation-only
  • Error 26x1E appears after Backup Interface discovery for 30 seconds and then disappears. If disappears then its OK, it not, Please check the 12V connection and polarity
  • New monitoring dashboard doesn’t present energy in 3 days mode. No effect on production
  • SolarEdge Home Backup Interface meter present on monitoring wrong values, this  doesn’t affect production or Msc mode. Only a presentation issue
  • Backup Inverter requires manual or remote unlock on the following scenario:
During backup operation and an overconsumption event occurred which caused the inverter to remain in lock state. Once the grid is back, the Inverter will not unlock itself automatically and will require either manual switch position change to “1” or unlock it from remote by calling SolarEdge local support.

Fixed issues

  • Hot water heater is generating multiple errors 2Fx272A due to the keep-alive signal, this has been improved
  • The hot water controller not showing energy measurements on monitoring due to telemetry mismatch, this has been resolved

Version: 4.19.18

Release Date: Aug 2023

This release supports the UK PV market only.

With the introduction on May 1, 2023 of the new G100 Issue 2 Amendment 2 for the customer limiting scheme, SolarEdge residential and commercial products including PV inverters, batteries, and Smart Energy devices now fully comply with this latest G100 amendment.

G100 Issue 2 Overview

EREC G100 Issue 2 supersedes EREC G100 Issue 1 Amendment 2 “Technical Requirements for Customers Export and Import Limitation Schemes” and will become mandatory for sites commissioned after May 1, 2023. G100 Issue 2 requires control of the PV system such that the current flow levels at the grid connection point will remain within pre-configured boundaries. The current boundaries are set by the installers during the commissioning phase, according to the levels that were agreed upon in the Connection Agreement.

At the steady state, the inverter constantly monitors the current flow level at the grid connection point. It manages the production level and site consumption (by controlling the smart devices) to maintain the Import and Export values within the configured boundaries. G100 also defines a set of rules for entering the system into restricted operational modes in cases where the limitations were breached. If the system is operating in one of the restricted modes, installers will be able to set the system back to Normal mode.

System Settings

System default current limits are as follows:

  • On Residential sites: the Maximal Import Limit  (MIL) is equal to 50A while the Maximum Export Limit (MEL) is equal to 16A

Installers will be able to modify these default values using SetApp.

Limit Export

Operating in Restricted Mode

EREC G100 Issue 2 defines two levels of operation in restricted modes.
The first level (state 3) is caused due to multiple breaches of the limitations for more than 15 seconds or an excursion longer than 1 minute.
The second level (AKA Locked out mode) is caused by multiple entries into state 3.

Setting the system to Normal operation mode

If the system is in Restricted mode, installers can use SetApp to set the system back to Normal mode.

New Features and Enhancements

Product/Feature Feature Description
SolarEdge Home Hub Inverter – Three Phase + Backup Interface  Backup operation is now supported with the SolarEdge Home Backup Interface and a single Home Hub - Three Phase backup inverter.
Support includes backup transition time, imbalance operation during backup, backup recovery after the battery is depleted, and backup operation after a single-phase outage.
SolarEdge Home Hub Inverter – Three Phase

The following backup push notifications are now supported via mySolarEdge:

  1. Grid is off – inverter is in backup mode
  2. Grid is back
  3. Backup time has reached its limit (less than 30 seconds)
  4. Battery close to min. SoC
  5. Phase imbalance is too high
SolarEdge Home Hub Inverter – Three Phase All battery alerts and protection modes are now available via battery LEDs. Learn more in the SolarEdge Home Battery 48V Installation Guide.
SolarEdge Home Hub Inverter – Three Phase The SolarEdge Home Hub Inverter – Three Phase now supports AC prevention mode, so when the battery is below its min. SoC, the inverter stops AC production and starts charging the battery from PV until it’s reached a safe charge level.
SolarEdge Home Hub Inverter – Three Phase The SolarEdge Home Hub Inverter – Three Phase is now able to start (wakeup) directly from PV after it reaches “AC prevention” mode and has entered Sleep mode.
SolarEdge Home Hub Inverter – Three Phase The Self-test procedure takes into consideration any charge/discharge power limits that derive from the battery configuration and status (e.g. low/high SOC, thermal derating, etc.)
Excess Solar with Zero Export To comply with import/export regulations,
zero power export to the grid is supported even if there is excess PV available over the maximum battery charge rate.

Known Issues and Limitations

Issue Summary
During backup, LED lights may flicker when an engine-based load is operated. This is a known issue and doesn’t cause any damage to home loads during Backup operations.
EV Chargers may not start during the backup transition and may cause the backup system to trip (shut down). This is a known issue and doesn’t cause any damage to home loads.
If this happens, you should turn off the EV Charger and then switch ON the inverter again.

In some cases, after adding the SolarEdge Home Backup interface via the SetApp Device Manager, two types of errors may occur: "Adding failed" or “BUI comm error”.

Workaround:
In both cases, the battery circuit breaker and grid input to the inverter must be switched off for five minutes until the inverter’s LEDs are OFF. After turning all circuit breakers on again, these errors should no longer appear.
for more info please find the following: Three Phase Home Backup Interface Commissioning has context menu

A notification is sent to the mySolaredge app that the grid is either up or down while in Backup mode.
This is a known issue and doesn’t impact the normal operation of the system during backup.

When the system has been operating in Backup mode for a long period of time, the battery may stop functioning a few percentage points above its minimum capacity.

This results in the system Backup operation lasting a few minutes less than expected.

During commissioning, the following attribute may appear in the SetApp status screen:

SetApp -> Commissioning -> Status screen > “Line Imbalance window” attribute.

This attribute has no significance and should be ignored.

If there are several battery modules (= one battery pack) on site connected to the same inverter, monitoring alerts will only show the alerts specific to the battery pack and not for each battery module.
This has no impact on system performance.
Monitoring dashboard charts may show inaccurate consumption data in the event of a meter communications error.
This is only a chart display issue and can be ignored as the system continues to work normally.
Backup interface alerts may temporarily fail to appear in the Monitoring Platform dashboard.
This has no impact on system performance and can be ignored.

Setting the Backup Reserve parameter to 100% upon battery selection may cause this parameter to change sporadically.

Until this issue is resolved, setting Backup Reserve to 100% should be avoided.

In SetApp, if the energy meter configuration shows Import as Export and vice versa, then this is because there is an incorrect initial value for the current transformer’s meter direction.

Please contact SolarEdge support to resolve this issue.

When upgrading a battery in sites with five battery modules, in some cases one module will appear with firmware version 0.0.0.
This error has no impact on battery functionality and will be resolved in the next BMS upgrade.
Transitions with Imbalance loads over the different phases may take up to 5-6 seconds.
In very rare cases, the transition to Off-grid mode may take up to 18 seconds. After switching to Backup mode, the system will continue to work normally.
During the transition to Backup mode, if the battery is in 100% SoC the transition may take between 3-10 seconds.
Occasionally, “Site Production” in mySolarEdge may appear as “NA”. This is only a display issue and can be ignored. System production continues as normal.
